Different Lacing Techniques For Roller Skates

Changing your lacing technique can help you feel more comfortable in your roller skates. If you're frustrated by the fit of your roller skate boot, try experimenting with the lacing before making any major changes. You'll be surprised by the difference it can make! Foot types and skating styles vary, and adjusting your laces can help tailor your skates to your needs.

Note: These tips can help fix minor issues in your skates, but you should always be properly fitted for your size and style of skating. Please, and professional medical care if your problems persist.

Wide Forefoot

Give yourself more space in the toe box by skipping an eyelet (or two) at the toe.

High Arches

Skip an eyelet in the middle section to alleviate pressure.

Wide Feet In General

Alternate skipping eyelets.

Heel Slipping

Try the heel lock technique.

Skates Feel Too Tight

Parallel laces evenly distribute the laces for more comfort.

Narrow Feet

Use a lacing style that will help keep the boots tight.
