Thank you for shopping at Medusa Skates! We provide guidance on sizing and compatibility to help every customer select the right product the first time around. If you need to return or exchange an item purchased with us, please be patient and we'll do our best to make it right!
Our Return Policy
- Items must be returned in new, store-bought condition to receive a refund or exchange. Products must be returned with all original accessories or components (e.g. laces, tools, box).
- If you think your skates may be the wrong size for you DO NOT take them to a roller rink or skate around the block. Try them on at home. Leather and suede skates should feel snug at first, they will stretch over time.
- Pads, helmets, and protective gear must be unused and in original packaging. For the health and safety of our customers we will not accept returns/exchanges of used or damaged gear.
- Wheels and parts do not have to be in the intact, original packaging, but they must be completely unused (we can tell).
- Items returned in used or worn condition will not be eligible for a refund. We will offer an exchange or store credit at our discretion.
- You must contact us within 14 days of delivery to be eligible for a return.
- After 14 calendar days we will offer an exchange, refund, or store credit at our discretion.
- All refunds are subject to a 5% restocking fee. Credit card companies charge us a fee on every purchase. When we refund an order we are not reimbursed for this fee. As a small business in a niche industry, we hope you respect our policy.
- Refunds of select Riedell roller skates are subject to a 10% restocking fee if wheels, bearings, and/or toe stops are changed from the default stock options.
- Returns of "Online Only" items, which are shipped directly from the manufacturer, are accepted on a case-by-case basis and, if returned, will be subject to the restock fee quoted to us by the manufacturer (usually 10% for Riedell). This policy will be confirmed with you before your order is processed.
- Excessive returns of used items may impact your eligibility for refunds on future returns.
In many cases we will provide a return shipping label free of charge, but customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping in the following cases:
- Oversized parcels and bulk/team orders (any parcels over 20 lbs)
- "Online Only" items
- Orders shipping from Alaska, Hawaii, and overseas military addresses
- Orders in which the customer chose a part or size that is not compatible with their skate or skate parts. For example "I accidentally ordered the wrong length laces" or "this plate is the wrong size for my boot" or "these toe stops do not fit my skates."
- If you have questions about sizing and compatibility please leave a note on your order or contact us before ordering. We do our best to double check compatibility before shipping your order but ultimately you are responsible for ordering the correct parts.
The following items are final sale:
- Custom order boots and skates (including color upgrades, changes to width/structure, all Riedell 3200 orders)
- Boots and plates custom mounted by us, any specialty mount (e.g. short plate).
- Custom shoe skates
- Special order items (e.g. Roll-Line brand products, Big Foot Grind Blocks, Rollerblade)
- Color variations of items that we do not keep stocked in store (e.g. Riedell Dart in a color other than black)
- Clearance items, discounted factory seconds, or items marked "Final Sale"
- Mouth Guards
- Gift Cards
Returning Online Orders
- Email us at medusaskates@gmail.com or reach out through the Contact page. Please include your order number, a description of the issue, and how you would like it resolved. We will respond to you within 1 business day (we are closed Sunday and Monday).
- In many cases we will provide a return shipping label free of charge.
- Package your item in the original box and drop it off with the shipping carrier (either UPS or USPS depending on location).
- Once we receive and inspect your item, we will either ship your exchange item or issue your refund.
- Your original shipping charge is nonrefundable.
Returning In Store Purchases
- We require your receipt or proof of purchase for all in store returns.
- If you are returning or exchanging an item after 14 days please contact us before coming in to ensure we have the correct exchange item for you.
- Items purchased in store may be shipped to us for return or exchange. You are responsible for return shipping cost.
