Sure-Grip, Bont, Sunlite Super Universal Cushion (Single)

Sure-Grip Universal Super Cushions (compatible with Sunlite and Bont roller skate plates). Sold individually.

Cushions (AKA bushings) fit around the kingpin of your plate and "sandwich" your trucks from the top and bottom. They absorb shock and allow your wheels to tilt so you can turn left and right. These Sure-Grip cushions are made from top of the line material that exhibits great rebound and longevity. We recommend replacing your cushions every 1-2 years for optimal performance.

Choose conical or barrel shaped (a complete set requires 8 cushions total, usually 8 barrel OR 4 barrel and 4 conical. Please check your plate type before purchase OR purchase the proper cushion cups to complete your skates. 

• Avanti plates: 4 barrel, 4 conical 
• Avenger plates: 4 barrel, 4 conical 
• Sunlite plates: 8 barrel
• Rock plates (Rock GT-50, Boardwalk, Fame): 8 barrel
• Bont Tracer or Athena plates: 4 barrel, 4 conical

Durometer/Hardness

Most plates come with medium hardness cushions. Softer cushions will allow greater responsiveness and maneuverability. Harder cushions will allow more stability, and will mean you do not have to tighten your trucks as much. In general smaller people prefer softer cushions and larger people prefer harder cushions, but we recommend experimenting to find what you like!
